At Ackton Pastures, we recognise the importance of science and our desire to enthuse and inspire children to develop a lifelong love of science is reflected in our curriculum and learning environments.
We believe that a high-quality science education provides the foundations for understanding the world and that through building up a body of key foundational knowledge and concepts, children should be encouraged to recognise the power of logical explanation and develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about natural phenomena. We also promote the development of persistence, problem solving and team work skills through planned scientific investigations.
“Science aims to stimulate our natural curiosity in finding out why things happen in the way we do. It teaches methods of enquiry and investigation to stimulate creative thought.”
